Our Story
The inspiration is personal. Founder Kristin Walter grew up watching her mother’s Mahjong gatherings — cocktails in hand, laughter echoing through elegantly designed living spaces. Those joy-filled evenings left a lasting impression.
Years later, as a player herself, Kristin noticed that many Mahjong products didn’t match the refined, serene style she and her friends loved. She created It’s a Mahjong Life to fill that gap, giving players a way to curate tablescapes that complement their homes and reflect their personal sense of elegant sophistication.
Through an inspired collaboration with celebrated surface pattern designer Tara Neal, each Mahjong mat becomes an original art piece, infused with whimsical, textile-rooted details and a clear center field for better play. Every release is produced in small batches, ensuring your table feels curated, uncommon, and distinctly yours.
